Empower The Vision
WS,NC
MOMENTUM is Where Community Development Gains VELOCITY.
About Momentum
Our Objectives
Through thoughtful collaborations we're removing barriers and building bridges for development while accelerating economic growth.
By....
Cultivating a Greater Sense of Community:
We take action towards building and strengthening relationships among business leaders, community leaders, and government officials on both the local and state level.
Providing a Professional Forum
We produce premier public forums for business and community leaders to express a diverse set of views and opinions in a "safe" and open environment.
Serving as a Catalyst
We serve as a catalyst for innovation in thought and ideas- impacting social, economic, and political issues facing the East Winston community.
Our mission is to provide a platform for informed business and community leaders to engage in thought provoking discussions relating to equitable and impactful strategies around real estate development and investment, economic development, affordable housing, and liveable communities in WInston-Salem, NC.
"We are a source for actionable recommendations on vital economic development issues in Winston-Salem that impacts historical communities of color."

Our Place Our Space gives utterance to, “This is Our Winston Now!” by utilizing ownership as a strategy to move our community forward. The core of Our Winston Now (OWN) is rooted in economic development and alludes to the clarion call to reach back and fetch the best of what black Winston was in the early 1900’s as found in landmarks such as the Winston Mutual Building and the joint business venture which produced the Safe Bus Company.
The adverb ‘Now’ expressed in OWN- both contrasts the past and refocuses the current moment.
The strategy of OWN encourages black Winston to go back and get the best of what our community is capable of- yet boldly demands and empowers us to reclaim Our Place Our Space in this season.
